Bio
Dr. Lee Engel is currently a Professor of Medicine in the Section of Hospital Medicine
at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. He is also the
Program Director for the Internal Medicine Residency Program. He is the immediate
past governor for the Louisiana Chapter of the American College of Physicians (ACP)
and currently serves on their national Health and Public Policy Committee.
Currently Dr. Engel is heavily involved with clinical education and training. In
his various roles as a Program Director for the Internal Medicine Residency Program,
as Faculty for the Clinical Skills Integration course and for 1st and 2nd year medical,
as a hospitalist and an infectious-disease (ID) specialist, as a basic-science-trained
researcher, he is fortunate to be in a position where he can affect the education
of medical students, interns, residents, fellows and colleagues.
