Bio
Vijay Nijjar is a Pulmonary and Critical Care physician who earned his medical degree
at the University of Queensland - Ochsner Clinical School. He went on to complete
his Internal Medicine residency at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, where he
also served as Chief Resident. He subsequently completed fellowship training in Pulmonary
and Critical Care Medicine at LSU New Orleans.
Dr. Nijjar specializes in the early detection and diagnosis of lung cancer, with expertise
in robotic bronchoscopy and endobronchial ultrasound. He has a particular interest
in optimizing lung cancer screening pathways and bridging clinical care and research
with the goal of improving outcomes for patients with lung cancer. Dr. Nijjar also
actively engages in medical education and is committed to the training of students,
residents, and fellows in the intensive care unit and pulmonary clinic.
