About the Workshop:

What Is Race Around the Table?

On September 26th, 2019, New Orleans leaders and influencers will come together to host the largest simultaneous conversation about race in our city's history!  All across the city, all in one night, Campaign for Equity New Orleans (CENO) alumni will host events to discuss race, inequities, and how racial disparities are holding New Orleans back from realizing its true potential.  We are hosting the event at LSU NO SOM from 4 to 6 pm, facilitated by LSU SOM faculty who completed 2-day intensive Racial Equity Institute Training. Join us for small group dialogue and conversation. Light refreshments will be served.

What you’ll learn:

At the conclusion of this activity, the learner should be better able to:

1. Discuss definitions of diversity, equity, and inclusion

2. Become more comfortable discussing power, privilege and structural racism.

3. Brainstorm ideas about how to move toward equity in healthcare in New Orleans, and at LSU NO HSC.
