Dr. Autrey received her medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine in
2015. She completed Pediatric Residency at University of Tennessee Health Sciences
Center in Memphis in 2018 and a Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship from the
same institution in 2019, achieving board certification in both specialties. She joined
Manning Family Children’s Palliative Care team in 2019 and has helped shape and grow
the department. Dr. Autrey serves as Chair of the Gulf States Pediatric Palliative
Care Consortium and continues to lead efforts to improve pediatric palliative care
at both regional and national levels. Her research focuses on evaluating opportunities
to expand access to quality pediatric palliative and hospice care in outpatient and
community settings as well as learning from bereaved parents’ experiences and integrating
their expertise into clinical practice. She has already made an impact on medical
education as a mentor to LSU medical students, residents, and fellows, by leading
research and quality improvement initiatives, and developing learner rotations and
curriculum in palliative care.
