Dr. Staci Olister is presently a Professor of Clinical Pediatrics in the Division
of Neonatology at LSU Health Sciences Center where she has been faculty since 1997.
She earned her undergraduate degree at the University of New Orleans and her medical
degree from LSUHSC. She completed both her LSU Pediatrics residency and LSU-Tulane
Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine fellowship training in New Orleans.
She is certified in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine by the American Board of Pediatrics
and as a Trauma-Informed Care Neonatal professional.
She maintains membership in the American Academy of Pediatrics, Section on Neonatal-Perinatal
Medicine and the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.
Dr. Olister’s administrative roles include Chair of the Developmental Care Committee
at Manning Family Children's and Neonatal faculty for the Louisiana Perinatal Quality
Collaborative.
In addition to her clinical, academic and administrative roles, Dr. Olister works
as an advocate for transitioning LCMC NICUs to providing optimal neurodevelopmental
care for infants and their families. She remains committed to her career in neonatology
because of its complexity which demands ongoing education, the opportunity to work
with and learn from many subspecialists at Manning Family Children's and the privilege
of engaging and supporting learners in their medical careers.
