Dr. Jessica Patrick is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Neonatology.
She was born and raised in Harahan, LA. She attended St. Mary’s Dominican High School.
After finishing college and completing her Master of Science in Public Health from
Tulane she went on to earn her medical degree from LSUHSC-Shreveport. She completed
all of her Pediatric and Neonatology training back at home at Manning Family Children’s
and LSU-New Orleans. She has been a faculty member since July of 2015. During her
career her love for the practice of Neonatology and academic medicine have continued
to grow. She rotates at various NICUs across the city including MFC, Touro, EJGH,
WJGH, and Tulane Lakeside where she encounters a wide variety of learners including
medical students, residents, nursing and NNP students. Not only does she love to spend
her time doing clinical teaching but she also enjoys teaching in the pre-clerkship
years. During her time at LSU she has spent time as the Assistant Clerkship Director
for the Pediatrics Clerkship and has now transitioned into her newest role as the
assistant co-director for the clinical skills curriculum in the UME office. She is
actively involved in teaching pre-clerkship students the clinical side of medicine
including history taking and physical exam skills.
