Pediatrics Section of Cardiology

Welcome to the Cardiology Section

Our cardiology team provides outstanding care for patients across Louisiana and the Gulf Coast, from fetal life through adulthood. Each year, nearly 2,000 individuals seek our services at The Heart Center at Manning Family Children's Hospital in New Orleans, where we offer a comprehensive range of cardiac care, including diagnostic and interventional catheterization, advanced cardiac intensive care, and specialized electrophysiology services.

Our specialists are experts in areas such as maternal-fetal care, adult congenital heart disease, heart failure, and pediatric coronary artery disease. We utilize advanced technologies such as echocardiography, MRI, CT-angiography, and exercise stress testing to deliver precise diagnoses and treatments.

For the past few years, the strategy of the Division of Cardiology has focused on programmatic growth, developing pediatric cardiovascular services not offered along the Gulf Coast.  These include surgical repairs in the neonatal period and multidisciplinary clinics in Preventive Cardiology, Pulmonary Hypertension, Cardiovascular Genetics, Coronary Artery Disease, Home Monitoring, Neurodevelopment, Neuromuscular, Single Ventricle, and Adult Congenital Heart Disease.  For the past few years, the Division has been planning the creation of a Heart Transplant Program.  These efforts will culminate in 2025 with our first heart transplant.  The Division has expanded its Cardiology Fellowship Program to include 6 categorical fellows beginning in 2025.  The Division also has established a Core Research Laboratory with which research productivity has increased.
