The Division of Genetics at LSUHSC plays a pivotal role in advancing both patient care and scientific knowledge. Our division’s dedication to patient care, education, and research ensures that we not only serve our patients but also contribute to the advancement of genetic medicine.
Expanded Genetic Counseling Services:
- We welcomed two skilled genetic counselors to our team, bolstering our ability to provide personalized counseling to patients and families.
- These counselors offer expertise in risk assessment, test interpretation, and compassionate communication, ensuring that individuals facing genetic conditions receive comprehensive support.
- They are also given gratis teaching positions at LSUHSC helping expose our student, residents and fellows to this aspect of Genetics.
Education and Training:
- Our commitment to education extends beyond patient care. We actively engage with medical students, residents, and fellows.
- Through lectures, case discussions, clinical rotations, and research mentoring we empower the next generation of healthcare professionals with a solid foundation in genetics.
Research and Publications:
