Wanguo Liu, PhD, earned his PhD in Molecular Biology and Human Genetics from the Wayne State University School of Medicine in 1993. After completing a postdoctoral fellowship at Howard Hughes Medical Institute of Stanford University, he directed the Gene Identification Laboratory at the Mayo Clinic Cancer Center, where he held joint positions as an Associate Professor and Senior Associate Consultant in the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology.. At the LSU Health Sciences Center, he is an Associate Professor of Genetics. His research focuses on the genetics and biological roles of Wnt signaling defects in GI cancer development and on genetic and functional analyses of DNA damage-response defects in prostate cancer susceptibility.
