David Martin, MD, is an internationally recognized expert in the field of sexually transmitted diseases, has published extensively in this area, and is a past president of the International Society for STD Research. He earned his MD from Harvard and completed both this residency and fellowship at the University of Washington. At LSU, he is Harry E. Dascomb Professor of Medicine, where he heads the Infectious Diseases section, and holds a joint appointment in the Department of Microbiology, Immunology & Parasitology.
