Yi-Zarn Wang, MD, DDS, FACS, is an Associate Professor of Surgery specializing in surgical oncology. He earned his dental degree from Kaohsiung Medical College in Taiwan, China, in 1980, and his medical degree from Oregon Health Sciences University School of Medicine in Portland in 1990. He completed both an internship and residency in general surgery at Washington University, St. Louis, as well as a residency in dentistry at the Air Force General Hospital in Taiwan. He served postdoctoral fellowships in both oral pathology and general pathology at the Oregon Health Sciences University and in anatomic pathology at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Portland. Wanting to teach surgery and pathology and to participate in cancer research, Dr. Wang joined the LSU Health Sciences Center and Cancer Center in July 1994. An award-winning teacher, he practices medicine at the Ochsner Medical Center in Kenner, where he is part of the Neuroendocrine Tumor Program.
