Yaguang Xi, MD, PhD, MBA is the Professor and Vice Chair for Research in the Department of Genetics and a Program Member of Stanley S. Scott Cancer Center. Prior to his PhD study in the Peking University, Dr. Xi practiced as a general surgeon in China. After completed his postdoctoral trainings in the WHO-International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) and the University of South Alabama, Dr. Xi was appointed as Assistant Professor and Associate Professor with tenure in the University of South Alabama before joined the LSUHSC in 2016. Dr. Xi’s group focuses on studying non-coding RNA involved molecular mechanisms in tumor metastasis and progression. Currently, his research programs are funded by NIH R01 and R21 grants, and American Cancer Society Research Scholar Award.
