Internal Deadlines and Submission Procedures
for NIH and Other Applications

At least fourteen (14) working days before the application deadline/receipt date, PIs should provide this Office of Grants and Development with the following materials:

  • An abstract, which may be in draft form

  • A budget, which should provide more detail than the NIH modular variety

  • A budget justification

  • An SF424 or other cover page for Dr. Moerschbaecher to sign

  • Consortium/intent letters (if another institution is involved)

  • Conflict of Interest and Significant Financial Disclosure attestations for all personnel

  • A double-sided LSUHSC Routing Sheet ("Yellow Sheet") for the information necessary for us to complete one

    • Information about regulatory approvals is required

    • You must specify at least 3 coded keywords

    •  All cancer-related applications should include the keyword NIH0715035

We can do much of this work for you. In additon, we can secure internal approvals and route documents on your behalf. In this case, the abstract, budget, justification, conflict of interest and significant financial disclosure forms, and consortium letters would be due at the Cancer Center grants office at least fifteen (15) working days in advance of the agency deadline.  With sufficient notice, we can prepare or assist with all of the above documents.

At least ten (10) business days before the application deadline, Principal Investigators preparing grants.gov submissions should send their applications to our office for review.  We will then forward them to the Office of Research Services, which will submit them to the funding agency on your behalf.

Editorial services are also available for applications being routed through this office. For this service, we request that a complete draft of the narrative be submitted with the budget so that we have adequate time to devote to your proposal.
