Molecular Signaling

The goal of the Molecular Signaling Program is to understand the biochemical, molecular, and cellular mechanisms whereby signals (such as hormones and growth factors) alter the cellular responses and proliferation that occur in normal cells and in cancer. The scope of this program is integrative. Research focuses on ligand-receptor interactions; changes in the phosphorylation states and biological activities of cellular effector molecules; transcription factors; gene expression; cellular proliferation; cell lifespan; and cell death (apoptosis). Research is organized around the themes of (1) cell proliferation, survival and apoptosis, and (2) cell invasion.
