Research
Dr. Cork is interested in digital imaging and 3-D reconstruction. From 2000 to 2012
he collaborated with Dr. Ray Gasser on the Virtual Human Embryo Project. where he
developed software for the display of human embryo serial sections on CDs and DVDs
and reconstructed embryos from all 23 Carnegie stages. Animations and 3D reconstructions
are collected together on the HEIRLOOM website, which aims to increase the educational
and research value of the Carnegie collection of serially sectioned human embryos
(http://virtualhumanembryo.lsuhsc.edu).
