Bio
Dr. Joshua M. Pitre, a native of Lafayette, Louisiana, earned his Bachelor’s Degree
from Louisiana State University (LSU) in 2011. He earned his Medical Degree from LSU
Health and Science Center in Shreveport, where he excelled, earning a Research Distinction
Honor in 2015, and graduated with the highest overall GPA in 2016. Dr. Pitre completed
his internship in internal medicine at the LSU Health and Science Center in Baton
Rouge in 2017, and completed his residency in dermatology at the LSU Health and Science
Center in New Orleans in 2020, where he served as Chief Resident in 2019.
He is licensed to practice medicine in the State of Louisiana and is board certified
in Dermatology. His clinical interests include pigmented lesions (moles and melanoma),
contact dermatitis (rashes due to external agents), and managing chronic inflammatory
conditions (including psoriasis, eczema, and acne).
Dr. Pitre is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and is a member of several
other distinctive professional organizations; including the American Contact Dermatitis
Society, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, the Alpha Omega Alpha Honors
Medical Society, the Louisiana State Medical Society, and the American Medical Association.
He works as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Dermatology at LSU.
Dr. Pitre is married to Rachel, and together they have two children. While not at
the office, he enjoys archery, hunting, fishing, hiking, gardening, LSU sports, and
cooking.
