Research Interests:
Our research applies advanced bioinformatics, data science, and machine learning/artificial intelligence approaches to analyze and integrate complex multi-omics data from human populations to identify novel and causal genes and multilayer biomarkers underlying cancer and other complex diseases. Our work spans genome-, methylome-, transcriptome-, proteome-, metabolome-, microbiome-, and glycome-scale datasets, incorporating Mendelian randomization and other causal inference methods. By utilizing large population-based cohorts and national and international consortia, our research advances mechanistic understanding of disease etiology and informs precision prevention, early detection, and therapeutic strategies.
