This is the 2nd year LSUHSC has used patient simulators from the Learning Center to teach the 1st year physiology course lab. The patient simulator is used to demonstrate cardiac arrhythmias while the students palpate pulses and observe vital sign changes. The patient simulator has also been used to demonstrate cardiac output associated with various different conditions: normal, hemorrhage, medication, and heart failure.
