Bio
Dr. Andrew Jones is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Obstetrics and Gynecology.
He grew up in South Pittsburg, Tennessee, outside of Chattanooga, and attended Tennessee
Tech University, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Biology,
magna cum laude. He attended medical school at University of Tennessee Health Science
Center in Memphis, graduating in 2012. Dr. Jones then completed his residency in Obstetrics
and Gynecology at Louisiana Health Sciences Center in New Orleans in 2016. During
residency he received the Aesculapian Society Excellence in Teaching award. Afterward,
Dr. Jones relocated to New York City, practicing for 8 years in a busy, diverse NYU-affiliate
hospital in Brooklyn. There he became certified in da Vinci robotic surgery and obtained
ABOG Focused Practice Designation in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery (MIGS).
In 2025 he returned to New Orleans and joined the faculty at LSU Health Sciences Center.
His professional interests include robotic and other minimally-invasive surgeries,
office-based procedures, complex contraception and resident/medical student education
and training.
Dr. Jones is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and became
Board Certified in 2019. In addition to supervising resident physicians and educating
medical students at University Medical Center and Touro Infirmary, he has a private
practice at LSU Healthcare Network on St. Charles Avenue.
