Pediatric Endocrinology Fellowship Program

Research Opportunities

The division of Pediatric Endocrinology maintains an active program of clinical and basic research. The fellow is expected to learn the techniques of research by actively participating in research projects under supervision of the pediatric endocrine faculty during the three years of fellowship. Initially, the fellow is assigned and becomes involved in specific ongoing research efforts of faculty members in the division. Whenever possible the fellow will participate in preparation of grant requests and hopefully write and compete for grant funds geared to fellowship projects. The division director is actively involved in research and takes an active interest and role in research activities and progress of fellows. Training is augmented by research and didactic seminars conducted in the division and at the departmental and university level. When appropriate the fellow participates in extramural conferences and workshops. The fellow has access to sophisticated computerized statistical packages, reference manager, and database managers supported on the divisional computers.
