Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry Research
A wide variety of research opportunities exist within the section of C-L Psychiatry,
collaborating with other specialties and the basic sciences. The clinical locations
of the University Medical Center and the embedded clinics afford the interested fellow
a selected patient base to engage in clinical trials.
An ongoing collaborative effort with screening and treating Trauma Patients at the
Spirit of Charity Trauma Center Psychiatry Research Unit serves as the cornerstone
for the fellows' engagement with the research process and individual projects are
encouraged. The C-L Psychiatry faculty will aid any interested fellow in pursuing
research and learning how to comply with the appropriate regulatory agencies. While
a research project isn't required, it is expected that each fellow will present a
grand rounds for the department of psychiatry prior to graduation.
