Bio
Harold M Stokes, MD, founder and former affiliate of Hand Surgical Associates in Metairie, has joined the full time faculty at LSU School of Medicine (NO) as Chief of Hand Surgery in the Department of Surgery and continues his private practice of Hand Surgery with the LSU Healthcare Network. Dr. Stokes is a graduate of Occidental College, Los Angeles, California. Following graduation from the University of California, Irvine, College of Medicine, he completed an internship at Los Angeles County General Hospital and then did military service as a flight surgeon in the United States Navy. Specialty training included an Orthopaedic Residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan and then two full fellowships in Surgery of the Hand in Derby, England and in New Orleans. He is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. His teaching responsibilities include both Plastic Surgery and Orthopaedic Surgery residents.
