The mission of the Office of Graduate Medical Education is to support the interns, residents, fellows, and training programs of the LSU School of Medicine - New Orleans. We strive to provide a smooth transition from medical school to residency and fellowship training. 

The School of Medicine – New Orleans has approximately 650 full time faculty members, 800 students, and 860 residents and fellows (house officers). The faculty, students, and house officers play an integral role in helping to meet the health care needs of the city's urban population of approximately 500,000. We offer a wide variety of resources and support programs to our house officers in addition to an excellent clinical training experience.
