Welcome to the Allergy/Immunology Section
The Allergy and Immunology Section provides comprehensive diagnostic evaluation and management for children and adults with allergic and immune-related conditions. Our specialists partner closely with patients and caregivers to develop individualized management plans that fit each patient’s symptoms and lifestyle, which may include environmental avoidance strategies, medications, or allergen immunotherapy (allergy shots). The team also provides expert asthma evaluation and education, including personalized asthma action plans, and offers advanced therapies such as biologic or monoclonal antibody treatments for patients with severe or difficult-to-control asthma.
The program also offers specialized evaluation and management of food allergies, atopic dermatitis, and primary immunodeficiency disorders. Food allergy assessments include detailed clinical history, targeted testing, guidance on epinephrine auto-injector use, and when appropriate, supervised in-office food challenges. As the region’s only Jeffrey Modell Diagnostic Center for Immunodeficiencies, the division provides advanced evaluation for patients with recurrent or unusual infections, including comprehensive immunologic testing and access to specialized therapies such as immunoglobulin infusions and biologic treatments. Through collaboration with national and international research networks, including the Primary Immunodeficiency Treatment Consortium, our physicians deliver cutting-edge care for conditions such as allergic rhinitis, asthma, atopic dermatitis, food allergy, urticaria, anaphylaxis, angioedema, and primary immunodeficiency disease.
