Welcome to the Neonatology Section
The Division of Neonatology provides inpatient care for sick infants at eight local hospitals—Manning Family Children's, Touro Infirmary, East Jefferson General Hospital, West Jefferson Medical Center, Lakeside Hospital, Lakeview Hospital, Slidell Memorial Hospital and North Oaks Medical Center.
The Manning Family Children's NICU serves as a referral center for infants with complicated problems from across the state of Louisiana. The Division of Neonatology is involved in the education of the largest group of medical students, pediatric residents, and neonatology fellows in the state.
The LSUHSC Section of Neonatology has grown to 15 members providing coverage to eight area NICUs in conjunction with three Tulane neonatology colleagues. We continue to develop a statewide referral base for complex patients needing care at Manning Family Children's NICU. We are leading the LCMC system in quality improvement efforts in NICU care and standardizing a more systemwide approach to care. We have an active fellowship education program with five current fellows.
