Tiger Scholars Undergraduate (Pre-Med) Academic Enrichment Program;

Tiger Scholars is a free, five-week, non-residential, academic enrichment program for up to 20 pre-medical, undergraduate sophomores, juniors,  seniors, and graduate students/post-bac students.  The scholars participate in mini-courses in biochemistry, anatomy, physiology, genetics and public health. Additionally, the program includes workshops focused on leadership development, clinical experiences, cultural competency, financial literacy, and preparation for entrance exams to professional schools, such as the MCAT and GRE.  Please use this link to apply:

Programmatic dates: Tuesday, May 26, 2026 through Friday, June 26, 2026. (Class sessions are held Monday-Friday.)

Application process dates: Friday, November 1, 2026 through Monday, March 31, 2026. (*Deadline extended to Friday, April 10, 2026 at 11:59 PM)

  1. Current attendance at a Louisiana undergraduate institution or LA resident who attends an out-of-state undergraduate institution 
  2. GPA of 3.0
  3. Academic classification: a) Sophomores; b) Juniors; c) Seniors; d) Graduate students/Post-bac students.
  4. Has earned academic credits in organic chemistry and physics

Required Documents:

  1. Copy of an official transcript from current Academic institution 
  2. Copy of Driver's License/U.S. Government-issued identification card
  3. Copy of Social Security card
  4. Copy of current immunization records
  5. Two to three recommendations from current professors, two must be from current science and/or math professors.
  6. Personal statement communicating how this particular program will play an important role in pursuing medical education.
