Miguel A. De Jesús Recives Award to Present at International Osteoarthritis Congress

Miguel A. De Jesús, a visiting medical student from Ponce Health Sciences University in Puerto Rico, has secured a $1,000 travel award from Fundación Intellectus to present "IL-11 as a Novel Target for Arthrofibrosis Therapy" at the 2025 OARSI World Congress in Icheon, South Korea. Fundación Intellectus, which is part of the Ponce Health Sciences Educational Foundation, has awarded over 1,600 scholarships and donations to Puerto Rican students in the fields of health and social sciences since 2014. Miguel is currently completing a gap-year research fellowship in the LSUHSC-NO Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. This innovative work was initiated by incoming PGY-1 resident Ryan Schroeder and mentored by Dr. Luis Marrero.
