Dr. Rivera and Dr. Warner Present Transverse Bone Transport Technique Findings at the Limb Lengthening and Reconstruction Society Annual Meeting

Dr. Meredith Warner and Dr. Jessica Rivera present the first series of patients treated in the Gulf South with Transverse Bone Transport (TBT).  This technique uses bone cortex distraction to increase blood flow to the lower leg which promotes wound healing.  Their initial care series, presented at the Limb Lengthening and Reconstruction Society annual meeting in Philadelphia, describes how this technique has promoted wound healing in post-traumatic conditions and wounds related to chronic disease such as diabetes and lymphedema in patients at risk for limb loss.
