Julia Rivera-Sustache, MD, Ritu Bhalla, MD

Case vignette:
A 25-year-old male presented to his primary care physician for evaluation of a dull right lower abdomen pain developed over a period of three months. Physical examination revealed a right sided inguinal hernia with an empty right scrotal sac. Subsequent imaging confirmed the presence of the right testicle within the inguinal canal. A right radical orchiectomy was performed, revealing a 3.8 x 1.5 x 1.2 cm testicle with a tan-yellow, homogeneous cut surface. Representative sections stained with hematoxylin and eosin (H&E) are demonstrated in the figures below.
