Bio
Dr. Chawla is a board-certified vascular surgeon born and raised in New Orleans. He
graduated early from Tulane University with a degree in Neuroscience before earning
his medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine. He remained
at LSU to complete both his General Surgery residency and a fellowship in Vascular
Surgery.
Upon finishing his training, Dr. Chawla joined the Department of Surgery at LSU Health
Sciences Center. He currently practices primarily at University Medical Center (UMC)
and serves as Chief of Vascular Surgery at the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Health
Care System (SLVHCS), based at the New Orleans VA.
Dr. Chawla is committed to advancing vascular care in the region and brings a strong
academic and clinical background to his leadership roles.
