Bio
Daniel J. Womac, MD is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Surgery.
He completed his undergraduate studies at Loyola University in New Orleans, graduating
Cum Laude in 2003. He received his medical degree from Tulane University School of
Medicine in 2007. Following completion of his medical training, he undertook a residency
in General Surgery at the Medical University of South Carolina. He then came to LSU
for an Independent residency in Plastic Surgery before joining the clinical faculty.
Currently, Dr. Womac splits his time between his private practice and UMC, where he
performs microsurgical breast reconstruction, gender-affirming top surgery, and general
reconstruction/limb salvage. He is the author of multiple articles and presentations
during his tenure at LSU.
Dr. Womac also makes the best crawfish in New Orleans. He typically hosts a crawfish
boil each year for the residents following the in-service training exam.
