Bio

Dr. Kevin Sullivan is a board-certified surgical oncologist and Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery, Division of Surgical Oncology at LSU Health Sciences Center New Orleans. Dr. Sullivan received his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin. He completed his General Surgery residency training at the University of Washington and a Complex General Surgical Oncology fellowship at City of Hope National Medical Center.

His clinical interest is the multidisciplinary treatment of complex abdominal and gastrointestinal (GI) cancers, 
particularly surgery or other therapies for advanced or metastatic disease including HIPEC and intraperitoneal 
therapy for peritoneal surface malignancies. His passion includes a team-based approach to explore all treatment options for the most complex and advanced cancers in all patients including underrepresented and vulnerable populations.

Dr. Sullivan also has academic interests in medical education and serves as Clerkship Director for surgery at LSU Health New Orleans. His has research experience in the immune microenvironment of GI cancers with a goal of developing new immunotherapies that target multiple types of cells to enhance a cohesive immune response against cancer. He has published over 30 peer-reviewed articles in high impact journals including Gut, Annals of Surgical Oncology, and Clinical Cancer Research. He has interests in clinical trials that can help bring these research innovations into new locoregional therapies for patients
