Bio
Dr. Lin is a pediatric plastic surgeon specializing in cleft and facial differences
at Manning Family Children's. He is dedicated to caring for children and families
in New Orleans and across Louisiana and the Gulf South. He specializes in treating
children with cleft lip and palate, craniosynostosis, craniofacial differences, facial
trauma, and complex reconstructive conditions from infancy through adulthood.
Dr. Lin believes that excellent care extends beyond the operating room. He cares for
patients, families, and caregivers as whole people rather than focusing on a diagnosis
or surgery. He understands that family relationships, culture, faith, values, community,
and emotional well-being all contribute to healing and quality of life. He is committed
to providing advanced surgical care and believes that surgery is only one part of
helping a child thrive. Dr. Lin strives to partner with each family with compassion,
humility, and respect for what matters most to them.
Dr. Lin brings a unique background in engineering, medical humanities, and community
engagement. His research focuses on improving success in craniofacial surgery and
cleft care, with numerous peer-reviewed publications and national and international
presentations. He has also been recognized for his commitment to compassionate, humanistic
care through induction into the Arnold P. Gold Humanism Honor Society and a scholarly
concentration in medical humanities.
Dr. Lin completed his cleft and craniofacial surgery fellowship at Boston Children's
Hospital and Harvard Medical School. He also completed his plastic and reconstructive
surgery residency at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. He completed advanced
research training at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) under internationally
recognized leaders in pediatric plastic and craniofacial surgery. He earned his medical
degree from McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston.
Dr. Lin enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons, hiking, biking, playing music,
and cooking meals for his family.
