Bio
A native of New Orleans, LA., Dr. LaCour graduated from Jesuit High School and then
attended Texas Christian University in Ft. Worth, TX ., where he received a Bachelor
of Arts degree in Chemistry and graduated summa cum laude. He went on to attend LSU Medical School in New Orleans where he received his Doctor
of Medicine Degree. He completed 2 years of General Surgery residency followed by
4 years of Urology residency at the University of Tennessee in Memphis. After 3 years
in private practice in the River Parishes, Dr. LaCour decided to move his practice back
to New Orleans and join the Urology Department of LSU Health Sciences Center as Assistant
Professor of Urology. He is board certified by the American Board of Urology and is
a member of the American Urologic Association. He is also a member of the Southeastern
Section of the AUA and and has sat on the Board of the Directors for the SES of the
AUA .
Dr. LaCour practices general urology with special interest in stone diseases and benign
and malignant prostate diseases. Dr. LaCour was elected Chief of Urology at East Jefferson
General Hospital in January 2009. After serving as chief for several years, he decided
to step down as Chief and is now the Vice Chief of Urology. He is also the Chairman
of the Robotics Committee at East Jefferson General Hospital. He is the Site Director
at East Jefferson General Hospital for the LSU Residency Program.
