Bio
A native of Louisiana, Dr. Aaron Martin obtained his medical degree from Louisiana
State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans and jointly completed his Masters
of Public Health at the LSU School of Public Health. After graduation in 2006, he
went on to Phoenix, Arizona for his urology residency at the Mayo Clinic. He completed
further specialized training in pediatric urology in Washington, D.C. as the A. Barry
Belman Fellow in Pediatric Urology at Children’s National Medical Center and The George
Washington University School of Medicine. He returned to LSU in 2013 with his clinical
practice based at Children’s Hospital New Orleans.
As part of his fellowship, he spent a year as a Joseph E. Robert, Jr. Fellow in Pediatric
Surgical Innovation working on a wide variety of projects from advancing minimally
invasive surgical tools to predicting outcomes in children with vesicoureteral reflux
and obstructive uropathy. Dr. Martin actively pursues research opportunities with
a focus on surgical innovation, telemedicine, and clinical outcomes. Additionally,
he has served as a proctor to teach other surgeons robotic surgery techniques in children.
He is a reviewer for multiple national and international urology journals, has presented
his work at national urologic conferences, and has published many peer-reviewed publications.
He is a member of the American Urological Association, the Society of Pediatric Urology, the
Society of Fetal Urology, and the American Telemedicine Association.
