In January 2002 the School of Medicine was visited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME). In April 2002, the LCME voted to continue full accreditation of the educational program leading to the MD degree for 8 years. The LCME did not identify any areas of partial or substantial noncompliance nor were any concerns expressed.

After Hurricane Katrina, the LCME visited the school twice. They were satisfied with our high educational standards despite the enormous challenges created by the storm. We remain fully accredited until our next review in 2010.

ACGME Accreditation Status

The institution is ACGME accredited with a 5 year accreditation status. Next institutional visit 2013.

American College of Surgeons Accreditation

The Learning Center is an American College of Surgeons Level 1 Comprehensive Education Institute with accreditation valid through June 2010.

TeamSTEPPS Certification

The Learning Center is certified to provide TeamSTEPPS training.
