How to Apply
To ensure consistency and fairness, all interviews— including those for local candidates— will be conducted virtually. We look forward to connecting with you and getting to know you in this format.
Candidates may apply annually in July, and we conduct interviews from August through November of each academic year.
All applications must be submitted through Electronic Residency Application System (ERAS) and positions are offered only through the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP).
The following materials are required for a complete application:
- Online application through ERAS, including curriculum vitae
- Official Medical School Transcript
- Medical Student Performance Evaluation
- Three or more letters of recommendation
- USMLE/COMLEX scores
- Personal statement
Candidate Requirements
- Complete an ACGME-accredited Pediatric, Internal Medicine, or Med-Peds residency in the United States
- Graduate from one of the following:
- LCME-accredited medical school in the United States or Canada
- AOA-accredited osteopathic medical school in the United States
- Medical school outside of the United States with one of the following:
- Currently valid ECFMG certificate
- Full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a United States licensing jurisdiction
- Medical school outside of the United States with completion of a Fifth Pathway program provided by an LCME-accredited medical school
- Pass one of the following board examination series by the starting date of fellowship
training:
- USMLE Steps 1, 2, and 3
- COMLEX Levels 1, 2, and 3
- Satisfy the requirements of the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners for appointment to the specific level of training for which the position is offered
