Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship Program

Year at a Glance

Fellows will rotate in the Children’s Hospital New Orleans Emergency Department, working 8-12 hour shifts during the rotations throughout their fellowship. Fellows will always work with a PEM faculty member available to supervise. The PEM fellows’ responsibility for patient care is progressive, with increased levels of independence, supervision and teaching opportunities in each year of training. PEM rotation months all have a component of non-clinical time dedicated to the development of fellows in the areas of research, scholarship, advocacy, and administration.
