Dr. Hanna was born and raised in Lebanon. He received his MD from the Jesuit St. Joseph University Medical School in Beirut where he graduated as valedictorian in 2002. He completed his residency, cardiology fellowship (LSU New Orleans), and interventional cardiology fellowship (Oklahoma University) in the US and joined the Section of Cardiology at LSUHSC in October 2010.

Dr. Hanna has been a prolific writer and managed to write early in his career a cardiology book that is widely used by residents and fellows. He finished writing this book during cardiology fellowship. He also first authored many original papers and wrote a second book, a cath lab book, in his first year as a cardiologist at LSU.

Dr. Hanna has a particular clinical and research interest in complex coronary, peripheral arterial, and renal interventions, intravascular imaging, antithrombotic therapies, electrocardiography and cardiovascular hemodynamics.
