LSU Hematology & Oncology Fellowship

Thank you for visiting the LSU HemOnc Fellowship Program. We offer a three-year ACGME-accredited fellowship which allows for board eligibility in both Hematology and Medical Oncology. The program's focus is excellence in clinic training and ensuring that Fellows are able to practice with a substantial level of independence. In addition to an active clinical practice, Fellows will have the opportunity to participate in clinical and basic science research.

The main clinical teaching site for the Fellowship is University Medical Center New Orleans. We offer electives in hematopathology, blood banking, radiation oncology, among many others with the stem cell transplant rotation taking place at the Tulane Medical Center. Fellow education is provided through weekly didactic conferences, journal club, Medicine Grand Rounds, research conferences in the Stanley S. Scott Cancer Center and several multidisciplinary tumor conferences at University Medical Center.

The fellowship program participates in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) Specialties Matching Service. Applications to the training program are accepted via ERAS. Selection criteria includes academic productivity and clinical competence, as defined by publications/grants and letters of evaluation from faculty mentors.

For any questions regarding the Hematology/Oncology Fellowship, please contact our fellowship coordinator, Natalie Worsham, at nworsh@lsuhsc.edu or by phone at (504) 568-2713. We look forward to hearing from you.
