Dr. Lanasha Tanner is a New Orleans native who completed her residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology at LSU New Orleans in 2008, serving as Educational Chief Resident during her senior year.  She earned her medical degree in 2004 from Meharry Medical College and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society during her third year.  Her academic excellence earned her several awards and scholarships, including the 2002 George C. and Sarah Hale Endowment Award, the 2000 United Fruit and Vegetable Union Workers Scholarship Award, and the 2000 Robert E. Dawson Student Leadership Award.  Dr. Tanner received her undergraduate Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia.  Throughout her medical and premedical career, Dr. Tanner has participated in a number of community outreach programs, including serving as a Mentor to at-risk youth, as a volunteer at the Safe Haven Family Shelter, the Nashville Union Rescue Mission, and the Lafayette Community Health Center.  She is an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.  She lives with her husband Titus and son Ty in New Orleans; where she enjoys cooking, travelling and spending time with family and friends in addition to doing outdoor activities.  Dr. Tanner is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology.
