Student Awards

The Paul S. Roheim Award of Excellence in Research is given annually to the Department of Physiology's most accomplished graduate student over the past calendar year.  The faculty evaluates each student's merit over the past year with specific regard to research accomplishments.  The winner receives a $500 travel award to attend a scientific conference of their choice.  Recent Roheim Award winners are indicated below:

The Michael G. Levitzky Outstanding Teaching Award is given annually to the Department of Physiology's most accomplished graduate student over the past calendar year based on their teaching quality and dedication to education.  The winner receives a $1000 award.  Recent Levitzky Award winners are indicated below:

The Chancellor’s Award is presented annually to an outstanding graduating student from the Basic Science Programs in the School of Graduate Studies at LSU Health New Orleans. The award is based on the accomplishments of the student as demonstrated by their overall research accomplishments, educational leadership, and service to the School of Graduate Studies and the New Orleans health sciences community.  The Chancellor provides a $1000 award to the winner.
