The Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism Fellowship Program at LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans is dedicated to excellence in clinical care, education, and research in diabetes, endocrinology, and metabolism. Our program provides fellows with comprehensive clinical training and diverse educational experiences in the diagnosis and management of a broad range of endocrine and metabolic disorders. Fellows work closely with experienced faculty and multidisciplinary teams across a variety of clinical settings, gaining exposure to diverse patient populations while developing the knowledge, clinical expertise, and professional skills essential to the practice of endocrinology. A strong didactic curriculum, opportunities for scholarly activity and research, and individualized faculty mentorship support each fellow’s professional growth and career development. Through this comprehensive training environment, our program prepares fellows for successful careers in clinical practice, academic medicine, and research.

LSUHSC is pleased to offer two ACGME accredited fellowships for the Section on Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism.

We will be accepting applications for fellowship through the ERAS system. Applications may be submitted starting on July 1, with interviews typically held in September and October. Fellows enter the program on July 1, and training lasts 2 years.

Applicants should be United States Citizens, have Permanent Resident status, or have a J-1 Visa with at least two years remaining.  Highly qualified graduates of medical schools outside of the United States are invited to apply.  Fellows will be required to have a Louisiana Medical License.

The LA CaTS Center aims to transform clinical and translational research in Louisiana by facilitating unique programs designed to train new investigators, providing and extending facilities to support clinical and translational research, improving clinical and translational research services, and enabling shared access to patient research communities. The projected end result is a vastly more efficient clinical and translational research enterprise with foundational activities for sharing uniform and integrated approaches, which result in avoidance of duplication and a more productive research enterprise. The project is a collaboration between New Orleans' four vangaurd institutions: Pennington Biomedical Research Center (PBRC), LSU Health Science Center in New Orleans (LSUHSC NO), LSU Health Care Services Division (HCSD) and Tulane University.
