Target Audience:
The primary target audience for this CME activity is faculty, residents, students, invited guests and other healthcare professionals practicing in the LSU Health System, LSU affiliated hospitals and communities within the State of Louisiana for whom this is within the current or potential scope of professional activities. The purpose of this activity is to promote improvements in healthcare in Louisiana.
Activity Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of this activity, the learner should be better able to:
- Expand clinical knowledge by emphasizing evidence-based practices in the care of both common and rare infections while appreciating the context for how these practices evolve over time.
- Integrate the latest advancements in medical research into clinical decision-making, ensuring patient care reflects both the current standard of practice and innovative approaches in the field.
- Improve understanding of complex infectious diseases, diagnostic methods, treatment modalities, and emerging healthcare technologies.
- Evaluate treatment approaches from an interdisciplinary perspective, incorporating the assistance of the clinical microbiology laboratory, clinical pharmacist team, stewardship team, infection prevention team, and other medical disciplines.

Additionally, credit is transmitted to the LSBME's CE Broker system monthly for those Louisiana LICENSED physicians (those working on permits are not transmitted).
