Target Audience:
The primary target audience for this CME activity is faculty, residents, students, invited guests and other healthcare professionals practicing in the LSU Health System, LSU affiliated hospitals and communities within the State of Louisiana for whom this is within the current or potential scope of professional activities. The purpose of this activity is to promote improvements in healthcare in Louisiana.
activity Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of this activity, the learner should be better able to:
- Improve the ability to diagnose and manage common and complex psychiatric conditions, including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and personality disorders, while exploring the latest evidence-based treatment strategies.
- Understand the latest advancements in psychopharmacology, including new medications for mood and psychotic disorders, and explore current best practices in psychotherapy techniques, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy and psychodynamic therapy.
- Examine the interplay between psychiatric disorders and chronic medical conditions, including substance use disorders, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases, and develop integrated treatment approaches.
