The School of Medicine is preparing for re-accreditation by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) in 2017-18. Over 150 faculty on 12 subcommittees are currently working on our self-study. This is a massive task that involves data collection about all aspects of the school’s operation, including finances, buildings and classrooms, IT infrastructure, clinical partnerships, administration, faculty, student services, and the student curriculum. We hope to have the initial draft of our response to all 93 elements of LCME accreditation completed by mid-January. In the spring, the subcommittees will turn their attention to analyzing our data, describing the areas in which our programs are strong, and identifying those areas in which we need to improve. The LCME site visit will be on November 12-15, 2017.
