Medical School: LSU New Orleans School of Medicine
Residency: LSU New Orleans Pediatric Residency Program
Why did you choose a PHM fellowship? I chose a Pediatric Hospital Medicine fellowship to gain advanced training in the
care of medically complex children and to strengthen my skills in systems-based practice,
quality improvement, and interdisciplinary communication. I wanted to be better equipped
to care for hospitalized children and their families during critical and transitional
moments, and to contribute meaningfully to education and advocacy within hospital
systems.
What do you love about LSU/Manning Family Children's program? I love the strong sense of community and collaboration at LSU and Manning Family Children’s
Hospital. The faculty are not only passionate about clinical care but are also deeply
invested in mentorship and supporting each fellow’s unique interests and goals. The
patient population is diverse and reflective of Louisiana’s culture, which offers
meaningful opportunities to address social determinants of health and advance health
equity.
Research interests: My research interests center on children with medical complexity, health equity, and
care coordination. I am particularly interested in how neighborhood-level factors
and family experiences influence healthcare utilization and outcomes for these children.
Career goal: My goal is to become a dual-boarded pediatric hospitalist and palliative care physician.
I hope to work in an academic children’s hospital where I can provide compassionate,
family-centered care, conduct research to improve systems for medically complex children,
and mentor future pediatricians.
Favorite thing to do in New Orleans: Enjoying live music and great food at the many festivals, restaurants, and venues
we have in the city. I also love City Park and will frequently go hammock and hang
with my dog and friends.
