Congratulations to Dr. Liz Simon and Dr. Flavia Souza-Smith!  Recipients of Pennington Nutrition Obesity Research Center (NORC) award for the study entitled:

MESENTERIC LYMPHATIC LEAK AND METABOLIC DYSREGULATION

Congratulations to Dr. Flavia Souza-Smith!  Recipient of K01 for the study entitled:

MESENTRIC LYMPHATIC/PERILMPHATIC ADIPOSE TISSUE CROSSTALK:  MECHANISM OF ALCOHOL IMMUNOMODULATION

The project will focus on the investigation of novel mechanisms involved in the development of adipose metabolic impairments and insulin resistance resulting from chronic alcohol.  Specifically, studies will investigate how chronic alcohol disrupts visceral adipose immunity, in response to lymphatic vessel leakage.

Congratulations to Dr. Liz Simon! Recipient of a K01 for the study entitled:

ALCOHOL-INDUCED MYOMIR DYSREGULATION: MECHANISMS OF IMPAIRED SKELETAL MUSCLE REGENERATION IN SIV/HIV
