Drs. Tsien and Doucet Featured on PBS
Dr. Fern Tsien appeared on March 13th in the PBS weekly series, "Louisiana, the State We're In" to discuss her genetics
research on hearing loss in Louisiana Acadians. Dr. Tsien is a tenured Associate Professor
in the Department of Genetics and Director of the Science Youth Initiative and summer

Her collaborator, Dr. John Doucet, also discussed his work and a clinical trial related to Friedreich's ataxia in the next installment of the PBS series. Dr. Doucet is adjunct faculty in the Department of Genetics at the LSU Health New Orleans and the Dean of the College of Sciences and Technology at Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, Louisiana.
