Faculty Assembly President 2020-2021
The October Faculty Assembly meeting was held virtually. The Assembly welcomed guest speaker, Dr. Wayne Backes, Associate Dean for Research. Dr. Backes discussed the School of Medicine Research Webpage, which can be found at https://www.medschool.lsuhsc.edu/research/.
The Assembly was updated on the research programs on the campus, including:
- Internal and external grant opportunities for basic science and clinical science faculty
- Resident research opportunities
- Grant Review Service for extramural proposals
- Mentoring program for Junior Faculty
- Research Café - a workshop for grant proposals
- Faculty interest database.
Additionally, the Faculty Assembly is working on updating their bylaws. Construction on campus continues to proceed at this time.
